In An Exclusive Conversation With Yasmine BOUDHINA
The Tunisian entrepreneur behind DossiMed discusses the healthcare realities that inspired the platform, the importance of patient-controlled medical data, and why Europe’s compliance standards became central to her global expansion strategy.
Across many healthcare systems, one challenge continues to slow patient care: fragmented medical information. Emergency situations, missing prescriptions, unreadable documents, and disconnected providers often leave both doctors and patients navigating incomplete histories.
For Yasmine BOUDHINA, this issue was not theoretical. It was personal. Through her company REC SUARL, she launched DossiMed, an AI-powered healthcare platform focused on making medical records secure, portable, and instantly accessible across borders.
In this exclusive interview with The Europe Time, she shares the vision behind DossiMed, the technology powering the platform, and her ambition to help modernize healthcare access internationally.
The Personal Motivation Behind DossiMed
We started the interview by asking, “What first pushed you toward creating DossiMed?”
Yasmine BOUDHINA replied,“The idea came from real-life situations that exposed how fragile healthcare access can become when information is missing.
I witnessed a medical emergency involving a child in a public setting where nobody had immediate access to his treatments or medical background. The panic, confusion, and delays could have been reduced if his health records had been available instantly.
Later, I also saw how missing a single medication dose created devastating consequences for someone close to me.
Those experiences changed the way I thought about healthcare. I realized patients should never depend entirely on paper files, memory, or another person to access life-critical medical information.”
Addressing the Reality of Fragmented Healthcare Records
The Europe Time asked, “What major problem is DossiMed trying to solve?”
Yasmine BOUDHINA explained,“In many regions, healthcare records remain highly fragmented. Patients move between clinics, hospitals, laboratories, and specialists carrying paper documents that are often incomplete or difficult to organize.
Doctors spend valuable consultation time trying to rebuild a patient’s history from scattered records instead of focusing immediately on diagnosis and treatment.
DossiMed centralizes that information into one secure digital ecosystem controlled directly by the patient. The goal is to simplify healthcare continuity and make critical data available whenever and wherever it’s needed.”
Combining Artificial Intelligence with Everyday Healthcare Habits
The Europe Time: “What innovations make DossiMed different from traditional digital health systems?”
Yasmine BOUDHINA responded,“One of our priorities was designing technology around existing human behavior rather than forcing people to completely change their habits.
Our AI document processing system allows patients to scan prescriptions, medical reports, laboratory results, and handwritten notes directly from their phone. The platform automatically structures and digitizes the information.
We also integrated communication workflows through WhatsApp because it is already deeply embedded in everyday healthcare interactions across many countries.
Another important feature is instant QR-code access. Patients can securely share their medical information with healthcare professionals during emergencies, consultations, or while traveling internationally.
Together, these tools help create a truly portable healthcare record that moves with the patient instead of remaining locked inside institutions.”
Why Europe’s Regulatory Standards Became the Foundation
The Europe Time asked, “Why did you prioritize Swiss hosting and European compliance frameworks so early in the company’s development?”
Yasmine BOUDHINA answered,“Healthcare platforms depend on trust, and trust starts with compliance and data protection.
We decided from the beginning to build DossiMed according to strong European privacy standards, including GDPR-aligned architecture and Swiss-based hosting infrastructure.
Europe has some of the world’s strictest healthcare and data governance expectations. By building to those standards early, we created a platform capable of scaling internationally with greater credibility and flexibility.
This approach also prepares us to adapt more efficiently to evolving regulations across the Gulf region, Africa, and other global healthcare markets.”
The Europe Time: “What comes next for DossiMed?”
Yasmine BOUDHINA shared:“The next phase is focused on partnerships and ecosystem development.
We intentionally built DossiMed as a B2B-focused platform because healthcare transformation requires collaboration with institutions, insurers, healthcare providers, telecom operators, and organizations already serving large patient communities.
We see strong opportunities across Europe, the MENA region, and French-speaking African markets where healthcare digitization is accelerating rapidly.
Our mission is not simply to develop software. It is to help create healthcare systems where patient information becomes more connected, secure, and accessible in real-world conditions.
Today, DossiMed is officially open for strategic partnerships. The technology is ready, and the market is ready. The question now is: who will be the first organization to bring the next generation of digital healthcare innovation to its customers under its own brand?
We are actively exploring collaborations with healthcare institutions, insurers, telecom operators, enterprise groups, and public-sector organizations looking to accelerate digital health transformation while delivering trusted, patient-centered solutions at scale.”
